This aero- view print of Amesbury, Massachusetts was drawn and published by Hughes & Bailey in 1914. Amesbury was a modern maritime and industrial city in the early 1900's along the Powow River, near its juncture with the larger Merrimack River.
Amesbury’s boat builders were busy building boats of all sorts, designed for the various water conditions of the region.
The many 19th century carriage builders of Amesbury were now shifting toward producing automobile bodies and parts.
The illustration includes labeled streets, buildings and waterways.
