Bird's eye view of Branford, Connecticut.

Busy maritime activity is depicted along the Branford River in this reproduction of Hughes & Bailey's "Bird's-Eye View" of Branford, CT, originally published in 1905. Included among the several buildings illustrated in the margins is the James Blackstone Memorial Library, built in 1896 and designed by S. S. Beman of Chicago, who used this model to build Chicago's first branch library, The Blackstone Branch Library of Chicago in 1905. Both libraries were built with the bequest of the Blackstone family of Chicago. Charming illustrations of the following buildings are included around the margins of the map:
