This panoramic print of Geneva, Illinois was drawn by Albert Ruger and published by Merchant’s Lithographing Co. in 1869. Geneva was established in the early 1800's on the banks of Fox River, thirty-five miles west of Chicago.
Lumber and milled items were manufactured here to great extent in the early years. Important later agricultural products of Geneva included cheese, grain and packed meat. The town was served by the Chicago & North-Western Railway.
The map looking northwest includes labeled streets, buildings, bridges and railroad route. It features inset illustrations of the following:
