Description
Reproduction bird's-eye view map of Gowanda, New York, drawn and published by Lucien R. Burleigh in 1892. The Village of Gowanda is located in Erie County along the Cattaraugus Creek. Gowanda was first incorporated in 1848. The village suffered through two major fires; the first in 1856 and nineteen years later, in 1875, much of the town was burned down.
The map from 1892 shows railway route and includes clearly labeled street names. It also features inset illustration of Gaensslen Bros. Co.
