Reproduction bird's-eye view map of Keeseville, New York, published by Lucien Burleigh in 1887. The village of Keeseville is located along the Ausable River just west of Lake Champlain. Originally called "Anderson Falls", Keesesville's name was changed in 1812 to honor an early manufacturer and businessman. Keeseville's early economy was largely focused on the lumber industry and iron processing. The area also had a granite quarry just uphill from the village.
