This panoramic print of Macungie, Pennsylvania was drawn by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler and published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer in 1893. Macungie is a borough in the Lehigh Valley that was originally known as Millerstown. The area was rich in limestone and became a profitable farming community served by the East Pennsylvania Railroad. The townï¿½ï¿½ï¿½s name was changed in 1875 to Macungie; a Lenape word for ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½Bear Swampï¿½ï¿½ï¿½.
