View of Mifflintown, Juniata County, P.A., 1895 / drawn & published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer.

This bird’s-eye view print of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania was drawn by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler and published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer in 1895. Mifflintown was incorporated as a borough in 1833 on the banks of the Juniata River. The area was mostly an agricultural community. Mifflintown is the main seat of government of Juniata County. Mifflintown was served by the Pennsylvania Railroad which had a station at nearby Patterson. The railroad’s plan of making Patterson a railroad center in the 1840's sparked speculation in Mifflintown. This prompted the building of the iron bridge to replace a ferry.

The map from 1895 shows the bridge across the Juniata River to Patterson (now Mifflin) with buildings and clearly labeled streets.
