Historic Map - New York City & Brooklyn, NY - 1877
Description
New York and Brooklyn.
This reproduction bird's-eye view map of New York and Brooklyn with Jersey City and the Hoboken waterfront was drawn on stone by Parsons & Atwater and published by Currier & Ives in 1877. It provides a colorful look at New York and vicinity twelve years after the American Civil War ended. Brooklyn is in the distance, pictured with the new projected bridge. The bridge was completed six years after this map's publishing.
This beautifully colored panoramic map from 1877 notes the steamers the "St. John", the "Drew" and the "Plymouth Rock". The map shows buildings, shipping traffic.
