View of Northborough, Worcester County, M.A., 1887.

This bird’s-eye view print of Northborough, Massachusetts was drawn and published in 1887. Northborough was settled along the Assabet River in the 1600's. The area surrounding Northborough was used for agricultural and horticultural purposes in the early days. Fruit was abundantly grown in orchards, while farms produced milk for shipment to Boston.

Northborough was served by the Old Colony Railroad. Mills and manufacturing interests began to be built along the river in the mid-1800's.

The colorful illustration includes labeled roads, buildings, waterways and railroad route. There are detailed illustrations the Town Hall Building and another unidentified structure.
