Description
This reproduction bird's-eye view of Poland, New York was published by the Burleigh Lithographing Establishment around 1890. Poland is a village in Herkimer County on the banks of the West Canada Creek. Settled in the early 1800s, Poland's fast moving creek quickly became dotted with tanneries, mills and foundries. In 1872, the Bank of Poland was organized. Poland was incorporated as a village in the same year that this map was published, 1890.
