Historic Map - Seattle, WA - 1903
Description
Main business district periscopic Seattle. Pericscopic Map Co. W. P. C. Adams, Mgr. Room 75 Starr Boyd Bldg.
The city of Seattle, Washington was founded in 1853 on the banks of Elliot Bay, and was incorporated as a city in 1865. Experiencing a rapid growth in population due to the lumber industry and the Alaskan Gold Rush, the city has grown to be the largest in the state of Washington and also the largest in the Pacific Northwest. This beautiful map provides a look at the early days of the city - long before the Space Needle, Starbucks, and Amazon called the city home.
