This bird’s-eye view perspective print of Sioux City, Iowa was drawn by Henry Wellge and published by H. Wellge & Co., Beck & Pauli Lith. in 1888. Sioux City was at its most prosperous point during the late 1800's.

Ferry boats crossed the Missouri from this point and railroads established depots and maintenance shops here. Sioux City supported several meat packing plants and a stock yard during this era.

The map published in 1888 indicates the population of Sioux City as 35,000. It shows labeled streets, buildings, railroad routes and vicinity. Riverboat activity is displayed in the foreground. There are featured inset illustrations of the following:
