This bird’s-eye view print of West Medway, Massachusetts was drawn and published by O. H. Bailey & Co. in 1887. West Medway was the established manufacturing center of Medway in the 1800's.
The town was settled in the 1650's and incorporated in 1713. Originally a farming community, the area’s Charles River afforded water power for the establishment of a number of industries including boot and shoe manufactories.
The village was served by the New York & New England Railway which paralleled the river at that point.
