This bird���s-eye view print of Westfield, Massachusetts was drawn and published by O. H. Bailey & Co. in 1875. Westfield was settled in the 1600s along the Westfield River. Its early history was that of a farming village.
In the 1800s, Westfield became a manufacturing center known as Whip City. Numerous buggy-whip makers established factories in Westfield during that era.
The hand-colored illustration includes labeled roads, buildings, bridges and railroad route.
