Seattle 1878 Birds-Eye View - B&W w/ Blue Water
Description
This panoramic map provides a look into old Seattle as it was in 1879, just a decade before the Great Seattle fire of 1889. Originally published by A.L. Bancroft & Company in 1878, the map depicts a perspective of the city from the Puget Sound. Detailed illustrations on the map include buildings, railways, waterfront piers, and ships sailing. In the distance appears Lake Washington and the Cascade mountains.
The original print of this antique map has been enhanced to give it a clean, crisp overall tone, contrasted by the addition of blue-color tinting to the rivers, skies, and oceans. This historic map reproduction is printed on heavyweight museum-quality paper using high-quality pigment-based inks. Several sizes are available.
